Is your sorghum organic?
No. However, at Twin Valley Mills LLC we practice responsible
chemical use and no-till farming.

Is your sorghum Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) free?
Yes, there are currently no GMO’s in sorghum.

Do you grow other grains?
Yes, but we are very aware of our customers concerns about
cross contamination. Since we control every aspect of production
(planting, harvesting, trucking, storing, milling, and packaging)
we can assure you that our product is gluten-free.

Do you mill any other grains?
No

Are there different types of sorghum?
Yes. There are many different varieties of grain sorghum. There
are red and white grained sorghums, as well as tan and purple plant
sorghums. The sorghum we are growing to produce our flour is a
tan plant, white grained variety. This particular variety is bred for
its sweet (not bitter) taste, as well as excellent milling characteristics.

Is this the same sorghum that sorghum syrup is made from?
Sorghum syrup is extruded from the stalk of a different variety
of sorghum plant than what we are growing to produce flour.

How do I get the lid off this bucket?
Around the side of the lid are a series of dots (not holes, but circular
indentations). Use a utility knife to cut from the dots down and pry the lid off.

What is the shelf life of your flour?
Sorghum flour, if stored in a sealed container, at room temperature
should stay fresh for several months. However, if refrigerated or
frozen the shelf life can be extended and freshness preserved.
